I’m ready for a new site. What now?
After months of debating and talking to your team, you’re finally ready to build your new website. Now on to step two, finding someone to do it for you. You call a friend whose son builds websites and he says it’ll be $500 and then you speak to an agency who says the site will be $25,000. What’s the difference? A website is a website, right?
Sure, your best friend’s son or daughter could create a site for your business, but as with any business decision, you have to determine how much value this will ultimately bring you. Do you want the first impression to be made by a college project or by a well crafted website created by experienced professionals?
So, before you start accepting quotes on your website, decide what it is you want to accomplish. Do you really just want an online brochure or do you want a website that’s not only going to drive traffic to itself but also, generate business for your company? Honestly think through your business and consider how a website might be able to help you. There may be a variety of opportunities in which you business may benefit from a professional web presence from increasing top of mind awareness and creating an memorable first impression to increasing value to your clients by simplifying their order process. Once you have identified how a new website can help your business then, find companies that can help you meet those needs.
