This is a great article. I do not think that many people consider mobile search within the realm of interactive marketing efforts. I know of many firms that involve mobile marketing, but mobile search is certainly a new realm. It will be crucial for businesses to make sure that they have websites that are accessible to the various mobile platforms, which will require additional knowledge and expertise beyond regular interactive marketing. There is a lot for each business to consider as mobile will definitely be something to target in the near future. Thanks for a great post.

Kinda cool, but as the above commenter pointed out, could be unfortunate for the actor depending how a clip is used.

Two reactions: Wow, I would love to access to that footage for promos. Secondly, I feel bad for the actors. I mean, would Marlon Brando really want his face partnered with some hamburger ad? It reiterates to me the value of hammering out the details in the actor's release contract. It also gives me the sense that big wig studios are out to keep on sucking for money and that makes me sad.

Great post. However, I did notice that some brick-and-mortar retailers' in-store deals were not offered online and vice versa. I look forward to seeing the latest Cyber Monday stats.

The key differentiator with "social" mediums is that people are reading your message because they elected to do so. It's not like traditional advertising where marketers push their message to anyone that is viewing or reading another program. With platforms such as twitter, facebook, squidoo, etc. people elect to read your messages. This gives several advantages to a marketer:
* They can talk more socially
* They can develop relationships
* They can create a more targeted message
* They can add more value

With opportunity comes responsibility though. People that elect to follow other people or corporations expect to receive value from it. If marketers don't provide value and good content, then people can just as easily elect not to talk 'socially' with them anymore.

And if you are providing a portal to collect that information / directing the user to a site that will retain the information you submit ( as when you place a search in a search box , including the search tool on our websites)
I am not out to advertise on your pages,but I felt that it should be added that any site or a portal to where input information is retained should have a privacy policy and terms of use : the user must be given the oppertunity to be aware that their information is NOT staying in that one place or that that it will be retained, accessibly retained, on a server someplace.
